Resilience & Locus Of Control

Lockdown has brought about another test of our resilience. Does the uncertainty of it all make us question how little we control externally or, is it highlighting our capacity to change and expand our internal narrative and personal agency?

Is your locus of control focused externally, believing that everything is happening to you? Do you often internalise things as devastating, shocking and/or have feelings of helplessness?

Or is your locus of control focused internally, embracing challenges as opportunities for growth and understanding your power in making things happen?

The greater degree we favour an internal locus of control, the better we cope and build resilience when faced with challenges. Vedic Meditation fosters development of a strong internal locus of control and our ability to adapt to change. When we sit to meditate, we settle into our least excited state and transcend the thinking process. We settle down into a state which is actually our highest nature. Realising our highest nature and strengthening our inner locus of control allows us to embrace change and express our resilience.

It is one thing to think that everything is happening for me, it is another thing to experience it as the baseline.
