The Wisdom Beyond What We Know
The Wisdom Beyond What We Know
The intellect naturally places great value on what it can explain, measure and organise. We spend years gathering knowledge, refining ideas and developing expertise, and these are all worthwhile pursuits.
At the same time, the very capacity to think, create and perceive is supported by a far greater field of intelligence that quietly sustains every moment of our lives. Our heart continues beating without instruction, every cell knows its role, a seed becomes a tree, wounds heal, sleep restores the body and inspiration arrives in its own time. Nature is continuously expressing an intelligence that exists long before the thinking mind becomes involved.
Vedic Meditation gives us regular access to this deeper level of nature. As the mind settles into profound rest, awareness naturally expands beyond the activity of thought and becomes increasingly familiar with the silent field from which thought itself arises. Over time, life begins to unfold with greater ease, decisions become clearer, creativity flows more freely and the nervous system functions with greater coherence because it is spending time in contact with its own source.
Knowledge will always have an important place in our lives. Direct experience of consciousness allows us to appreciate the foundation upon which all knowledge depends, revealing that the deepest wisdom is found through becoming increasingly familiar with the field of intelligence that has always been there.
